The trend of modern telecommunication services is towards greater mobility with ever increasing data speeds. This has put ever increasing demands/ pressures on the already limited and scarce RF spectrum resource and associated satellite orbits. Satellites also play a critical role in taking various telecom services to difficult areas, thus becoming an essential part of the Univeral Service goal. In fact, various telecom media - OFC & Copper, Cellular mobile and satellite based services have to play their complementary roles for taking modern telecom services to all people of the globe in an affordable manner.
With 50+ years of experience in terrestrial as well as satellite-based radio-communications, an international expert in optimizing the use of scarce resources of RF spectrum & associated orbits for satellite based services and use of RF spectrum for terrestrial services.
Specialties: RF Spectrum Management and related issues, including filing of satellite systems, their coordination and notification, etc., radio-communication network planning and related aspects.
